Welcome
to our website

Shrewsbury Catenians is a circle of Catholic friends.
You might be busy developing your career and providing for your growing family, the Catenians provides a network of like-minded Catholics men who share your faith and values and can support you

We aim to provide a calm meeting place away from the challenges to one’s beliefs in the work place: be it in the world of medicine, education, public service or business where your faith can be openly discussed.

While away on business (if we can ever again!) you can attend any nearby meeting to share a convivial evening, instead of that meal for one in a hotel room.  If a career move or retirement requires re-location, you will find a ‘circle’ of friends ready to welcome you and your family.

We work hard to strengthen and preserve the social fabric of our parishes and communities.

There’s just one thing missing: you. Are you interested in volunteering for our organisation or are you looking for assistance yourself?
Become part of our Catholic community!

What we do

A powerful network

Catenians spread rapidly through out the UK and offshore largely on colonial lines. Overseas growth in recent years has been rapid. We now have some 10,000 members in Africa, Australia, Bangladesh, India, Ireland, Malta and The Holy Land as well as the UK.

Everyday support for the sick and infirm

Catenians work hard to ensure that none of our brothers, their wives or widows, especially the sick and the elderly, are not neglected. There is always someone at the end of the phone.

Integration instead of exclusion

Practicing charity is not just an abstract concept – it requires direct communication and support. That’s why we focus on preserving and strengthening social ties within our community.
